The Barnards in Eastern Europe

Greetings to you from a chilly Black Sea coast in Constanta, Romania. The autumn is here and we feel winter fast approaching. So where do we start to tell you all the things God has been doing since we last wrote. There is still plenty of adjusting to be done but we are all doing well.

Staff outreach Bulgaria & Serbia Trip

In the beginning of October our family headed to Dimitrovgrad, Bulgaria with 20 YWAM Constanta staff members for one week. “Going into the Unknown” was the title of the outreach. James was asked to help be a part of a team leading the outreach and support the main leader. Before we left we knew that we had a place to stay but little else was known, hence the title “Going into the Unknown”.

Once we arrived we went out and prayer walked each morning and asked God what he wanted us to do in the afternoons. God led us to play hockey in the park with children, meet people on the streets and to run a family fun festival in the park on Saturday. It was a very successful time of building relationships with the local believers and non believers and the beginnings of a partnership for future outreaches in Dimitrovgrad.

Since that trip James has done a 5 day trip with Rune a friend of ours to Serbia and Bulgaria doing pastoral visits to teams working on the field. Sarah was meant to go but Emma was not well enough to travel so they stayed home.

Henri Coanda Ministry Women's Bible Study

Sarah has been helping lead a women’s Bible study in a low income housing development. The young kids meet and have a Bible study in an apartment and some of the moms meet in the hallway. It’s amazing to see how the women are open for prayer and to hear stories from the Bible. They see how their kids are impacted and that it has relevance for them as well. Please be praying for wisdom as we lead the group and for relationships to be built.
