Greetings from an unseasonably warm Black Sea!

Conference in Prague

During the first week of February we were able to attend the European Gathering of YWAM leaders. It was great to be able to network and meet with others who are working in the region. The organization’s founder Loren Cunningham (photo above) spoke the first night and it was encouraging to hear how the Bible continues to transform nations.

Teaching: Sign Language DTS

The week after the conference, Sarah had the privilege to teach on the Sign Language Discipleship Training School that is being run by YWAM Constanta. They have 6 deaf students from America, England, and Holland. This was the most challenging week and most rewarding. I learned how to teach a bit differently and to work with my interpreter. The students retained majority of my teaching and were so excited to read the Bible and learn more about it. Most of the students are very new in their faith, so they loved hearing stories about how Jesus ministered to different people.

For example we studied the passage from Luke 7:36-50 "about how Jesus was anointed by a sinful woman while eating at a Pharisee’s house." They about jumped out of their seats and related it to another story they had heard about when the pharisees wanted to stone a lady caught in adultery found in John 7:53-8:11. It was so exciting to see the students coming alive with these stories that I've gotten used to reading so often. It was great to see how they are reading scripture for the first time and getting revelation.

Building for YWAM Constanta

Over the past few years YWAM Constanta has realized that we need more space for summer teams and for existing ministries to function well in Constanta.  In this season we believe God wants us to buy a building, we looked at over 20 buildings and now there are 2 potential options. Each building is in the 600,000 to 850,000 euro range. We will give you more information on the building in future newsletters but wanted to introduce you to this exciting adventure.

Prayer and partnership

We continue to work into Central Europe with a ministry of YWAM called Mission Innovation.

So feel free to visit us in Romania! We appreciate your prayers for this next season.

- Continued direction as we develop the new ministry - Mission Innovation. We have a worship and prayer event we are running in April in Macedonia.

- Pray for wisdom as we seek to find the right building for YWAM Constanta.

Love,

James, Sarah & Emma Barnard
